The Rise of the Legal Engineer: How Legal Teams Are Redefining Talent
Â
As AI and new technologies reshape how legal work gets done, a new role is gaining traction: the legal engineer. But what exactly is a legal engineer—and does every legal department need one?
This panel will explore why legal engineering roles are emerging, the problems they’re designed to solve, and where they fit alongside lawyers, LegalOps, technology teams, and other existing functions. We’ll examine what legal engineering looks like in practice, the technical and legal skills the role requires, and whether these capabilities demand dedicated new hires or an evolution of existing roles.
Panelists will also discuss how AI is changing the composition of legal teams and what GCs should consider as they build the legal function of the future.
