Todays Deputy General Counsels are at the heart of transformation in venture capital. As the architects of day-to-day legal operations and the next generation of firm leadership, DGCs play a pivotal role in translating vision into action-especially as firms navigate the promise and perils of AI, evolving regulations, and new models of risk.
At this year’s inaugural VC Deputy GC Conference, rising legal leaders will come together to share real-world strategies for building strong AI governance, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and developing the operational muscle to support innovation at scale.
Through open discussion and peer learning, Deputy General Counsels will explore how to drive impact, grow as leaders, and help shape the resilient, forward-thinking legal teams that venture capital needs now.
The L Suite 2025 VC Deputy GC Conference is intended for Deputy General Counsel, Associate General Counsel, Vice Presidents of Legal, or others in similar roles at venture capital and corporate venture capital funds. If you would like to APPLY TO JOIN or NOMINATE YOUR DEPUTY GC please reach out to deputy-vc@lsuite.co
This event is for L Suite Members only.
Cutting Through the AI Buzz: Practical Governance for VC Firms
Artificial intelligence is reshaping how venture firms and their portfolio companies operate. For Deputy GCs, AI has already become part of the day-to-day reality. From managing compliance reviews of emerging tools, to addressing FCC and discovery concerns, to keeping teams aligned on fast-changing internal policies, this session looks at AI from a practical execution perspective. Attendees will hear how peers are building frameworks to manage AI “churn,” mitigate risks in portfolio companies, and deploy tools in ways that reduce costs without creating new exposures. The discussion will also cover how venture firms themselves are applying AI to scale lean teams and add value across fund and portfolio operations.
The VC Outlook: Looking Toward 2026 and Beyond
This forward-looking session explores the forces shaping venture capital in the year ahead and the evolving role of legal leaders as strategic partners. The discussion will blend market insight, regulatory perspective, and leadership experience from both GCs and Deputy GCs. Panelists will share what they are watching most closely as 2026 approaches, from capital markets and global policy shifts to internal team priorities and cross-border compliance pressure. They will also discuss how they are preparing their firms and portfolios for the next wave of change.
